into, really it would be cheaper and easier to just buy an new engine and do a swap, because fixing the problem will cost about as much as it would to replace the engine anyway so why not spend the money and have an new engine. If the body and rest of the car is in good cond i would say its worth 2400$ see if its got a clean title and find out how many actual miles are on it. Cause if its up around 150-200 then your gonna end up fixing alot of other stuff too as it goes out. I wouldent get involve unless you really know cars and how to work on them.
